RCIA— Rite of Acceptance and Welcoming

 January 14, 2018

Sunday, January 14, we formally welcomed those who are journeying in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) through a combination of the Rite of Acceptance Into the Order of Catechumens (those who are unbaptized) and the Rite of Welcoming the Candidates (those who are baptized.)

As we continue to pray for our candidates & catechumens, especially as we send them out to be nourished by the Word each Sunday after the homily, we are reminded also to repent together and to pray for Christian unity, to reach out to those we love & those who are unknown to us, who are in need of welcoming, acceptance, & a friend for the journey. We are also reminded of the One Baptism that unites us all, across Christian churches.
